Description
Volley Academy has been a staple in the Gwinnett youth volleyball community as a great alternative to traditional club volleyball. This program is intended for athletes that may not have the time nor resources to commit to a full-blown club team or just beginning in the sport. Volley Academy is a balance of fundamental skills training and an introduction in to match competition. Athletes will learn introductory game strategy and have the opportunity to apply them every training. This program is open to 2nd grade through 12th grade girls and boys.
Volley Academy runs all year round. Athletes are placed on teams according to age, skill level, and position. Every session the athletes will have a combination of skill training and match play with variations depending on the age division. Team drills will be against one another within the program.
Age Divisions
YOUTH – Open to 2nd-5th grade girls and boys. Focuses on a new set of skills each week, combining all techniques of the game, along with 6 v 6 game play. This is a great way for our young players to learn the game!
MIDDLE SCHOOL – Open to 6th-8th grade girls and boys. Will have a combination of new skill training, technical reviews, and 6 v 6 game play.
HIGH SCHOOL – Open to 9th-12th grade girls and boys. Skill training and match play will occur on a daily basis with an emphasis on repetition and pace relative to their skill level.
For all of Volley Academy programs, boys and girls are both welcome! If there are not enough boys signed up to make their own teams in Volley Academy, they will be incorportated into the girls team to keep them competitive!
